I have to admit I am kind of a astronomy/physics wannabe. My downtime reading includes the latest in astrophysics research (I don’t understand it all, but it is fascinating!) and books like Quantum Physics for Dummies. Over Christmas break, I read the Apologia Astronomy textbook for fun. Please don’t tell any of the other hockey moms. They will kick me out of the club.
So when I saw this, I got so excited!
Astronomy Science Kit
The new Astronomy Science kit from Apologia is amazing!! First of all, it’s an astronomy science kit! Those are hard to come by. This kit includes the supplies necessary for the 42 activities found in the Apologia 2nd Edition Astronomy textbook, plus it has 21 bonus activities. That’s 63 total!
What is even more awesome about this astronomy science kit, is that it is actually a stand alone resource that you can use with the Apologia Astronomy textbook or on its own. The kit not only contains activity supplies, but includes a complete, full color, spiral-bound Science Kit Guide. This guide contains the background information your student needs to understand what concept they are going to learn during each activity. This kit is perfect for an astronomy unit study or Charlotte Mason science resource.

I teach a homeschool co-op class using Apologia science, this year, it’s astronomy! my kids and my students are always flabbergasted by how HUGE it is and yet how God has made it all work together!
What fascinates me about outer space is that there is so much mystery there. I mean, as humans in this period of our evolution, it’s very unlikely that anyone will really know what all is out there in any of our lifetimes. There may be nothing, there may be other civilizations…..we will never know. The vastness of space boggles my mind.
It is infinite.
I’d say it’s the same for all of us: the vastness of it with the known and unknown. It’s mind boggling to think our galaxy is so enormous that we only ever see a tiny portion of it when we look up at the night sky. It’s fascinated me my whole life and I hope I’m passing that fascination down to my children.
The endlessness of the beauty
