Welcome to 10 Days Of Great Science Books! We are on day 6. All 10 Days Of Great Science Books will be linked to one landing page. Bookmark it for reference!
There are some books we go to just for reference. There are others that we go to for to jump start wonder and inspiration for a new study. And there are books we go to just for fun. The Big Book Of Earth And Sky is all three!
As my son says “This book is just cool.”
First, the Big Book Of Earth and Sky can be flipped through like a regular book with really big pages…..
….or it can be unfolded into a 15 foot chart full of colorful, eye-catching graphics and information.
We prefer the 15 foot chart. The kids unfold it and lay down on the floor with it. They crawl along the chart from the earth’s core up through the atmosphere, making stops to study rocks, the water table and greenhouse gases.
When we first got this book, the kids would just get it out because it is different and fun to look at. Now, when we have an earth science question that we think might be anwered by the book, we are quick to break it back out again.
The Big Book Of Earth and Sky would make a great start to an Earth Science curriculum. Master Books publishing has put together a FREE downloadable teachers guide that walks you through the book and includes vocabulary words, study questions and experiments.
