Earth Day is celebrated each year on April 22 since 1970. It was originally proposed Sen. Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin as a day to educate the public about the effects of pollution on the environment. Today, Earth Day is observed in over 192 countries as a celebration of the Earth and to bring awareness to environmental concerns.
There are so many ways to celebrate Earth Day with your kids. You could take the scientific approach and learn about the earth and environment or you could make fun crafts. This year, we are doing a little everything with the activities from We Are Teachers.
Do you do lapbooking in your homeschool? We have used lapbooking from the beginning. Both kids use it differently. One likes to put the entire lapbook together and the other likes to use the lapbook printouts as a way to take notes to learn material.
Here are some other great Earth Day lesson ideas to celebrate Earth Day with your kids! You can even use them with the Earth Day lapbook!
