I love having friends over to our house. There’s nothing quite like a house full of people eating and chatting, and kids playing.
However these days, between hockey, figure skating, homeschooling, robotics, and all the other stuff of life, there is not much time for parties. And, when we do have a free night, I don’t have much time to plan. I need a party menu that is easy to pull together and that will please adults and kids alike.
That’s when it’s great to have creative friends with a gift for hospitality….and a new e-book to get ideas from.
My friend Leah, has always been a great hostess. She knows how to pull a party together with ease. Her new e-book, Party Bars: Easy Ideas For Creative Entertaining is full (and I do mean FULL) of fantastic ideas for your next party or get-together.
Party Bars
Instead of meals based around a meat or a hodge-podge of dishes, Leah promotes the idea of creating a party bar that serves as food, decor, and entertainment. She teaches you how to put together food that your guests can customize to there tastes and looks good when you serve it.
The ideas included in Party Bars are: Breakfast Bars, Appetizer Bars, Brunch/Lunch Bars, Dinner Bars, Dessert Bars, Drink Bars, and Party Bar Ideas for Kids. Easy party menus that are sure to please!
Mac N Cheese Party Menu
Last week, we had a Friday night free, so we decided to have friends and their families over for dinner. I started to panic a bit after extending the invite over food and planning. Then, I remembered Leah’s new book.
Since we had a lot of kids coming over, I thought the Mac N Cheese bar would be yummy and kid friendly. The Mac N Cheese bar plan in Party Bars includes an amazing homemade mac n cheese recipe and tons of topping ideas.
As guests arrived to eat, I pulled the bubbly dish out of the oven and kept in on the stove top. It looked and smelled fantastic.
I placed mac n cheese toppings and add-ins like steamed broccoli, bacon, chicken, green onions, tomatoes, and sauteed mushrooms in serving bowls and dishes on the kitchen island with some others goodies that friends brought to share.
I had to stop taking pictures and grab me some before it was all gone. Our guests devoured it! The mac n cheese bar was a hit! I was easy to plan, prepare, and clean up. Plus, the guests loved it! They were all sharing what made their mac n cheese concoction the best.
