As many of you know, I’ll be traveling to the Washington DC area in April to attend the 2:1 Conference. This is a conference tailor made for bloggers who homeschool their children. Pretty specific, huh? I attended last year and it was the best conference ever. It was small, targeted, intimate and perfect for gaining knowledge and building relationships. (There are still tickets available if you would like to attend!!)
To get to know all the attendees, 2:1 is hosting an attendee link up and asked us all a few questions. Here are my answers. Can’t wait to meet you all at 2:1!
How long have you been blogging?
I’ve been blogging for about 4 years at Overcoming Busy. Although, I’ve only been blogging about homeschooling for a bit over a year at The Homeschool Scientist.
How long have you been homeschooling?
We are in our 4th year of homeschooling.
Which do you think is harder?
Both homeschooling and blogging take discipline, planning, dedication and time. There are some days where blogging gives me fits trying to write, schedule, find images and network. Then, there are other days where homeschooling leaves me pulling my hair out or feeling weary. Most days, both are so enjoyable and rewarding. I enjoy both pursuits and believe they are both part of my life for a reason. Even though they both get hard at times, they are worth it.
If you were a superhero, what would be your homeschool super power?
I want the power to command the full attention and awe of my children as I am trying to instill some knowledge into their precious little minds. If you are a homeschool mama, you understand.
If you could go anywhere, besides the 2:1 Conference, where would be your dream “mom-cation”?
There is a chair on a white beach somewhere calling my name. I would like to plant myself in that chair and only leave when I get a little too warm in the sun and have to jump in the ocean to cool off. When I get thirsty or hungry, someone will bring me drinks with little umbrellas in them and yummy fresh food. After about a week of that, I’ll let you know if I’m rested enough to come home.
What do you hope to “get out” of the 2:1 Conference?
My blogging and our homeschooling are still reaping the benefits of the relationships I started with other bloggers and homeschool company representatives at last year’s 2:1 Conference. I am in almost daily contact with kindred spirits I met last year. We talk about our homeschooling, our blogging, our families, our struggles and our triumphs. It’s great to have a group of friends who “gets” the whole homeschooling AND blogging part of life. This year, I am looking forward to strengthening those relationships and starting new ones.
Are you going to 2:1? Meet the other attendees HERE and link up your own introduction. See you in April!
