Our society has been taught over the years that the theory of evolution is fact. Most school textbooks teach the big bang theory as the origin of all matter in the universe. From there, life somehow sprang and evolved over millions of years into the world we see today.
This teaching is quite different from the creation story in the Bible. The Bible says that the universe and everything in it was created by God in just 6 days. This creation account is treated by many as a myth, just a story. This has caused many Christians to lose faith and turn away from their relationship with God. If God didn’t create the world like the Bible says, that casts doubt on the entire book.
In our homeschool, I teach both evolution and creation. I use resources that support both sides. We discuss the facts and evidence.
The interesting thing is that we live in an amazing time of discovery and research. Scientists are making new discoveries that are actually supporting the Biblical creation account and casting doubt on the theory of evolution. As a Christian, I find this very faith building.
I find the whole of science very faith buiding. The order of the universe is just amazing. I can’t believe it is all just fell into place without a guiding hand.
There are others who feel the same way. Jennifer White of Prayerfully Speaking has a burden for those who are teaching and writing on the subject of creation and science from a Christian perspective. Her heart is to cover those who are fighting a battle of faith with prayer. The Homeschool Scientist is joining her in that prayer since Christian homeschool moms are on the front lines,
