Over the past 4 years, we have used Apologia Science curriculum for our oldest. I’m a big fan of Apologia because of its thorough, yet easy to understand, explanations and lessons. The conversational style, great images and hands-on activities make Apologia a clear winner over the typical dry science text. Another Apologia Science resource that we have just started using these past 2 years is the Notebooking Journal (or Student Notebook as it is called in the General Science and Physical Science curricula). The Apologia Notebooking Journals take the benefits of notebooking and make it simple for parents.
What Is Notebooking?
Notebooking is a fabulous way to make note taking fun and a true learning experience. Jimmie Lanley at The Notebooking Fairy defines notebooking this way:
notebook: (verb) to put written ideas, drawn or printed images, and other relevant things into a notebook as a record of learning; often used in homeschool.
Notebooking is great for visual or hands-on learners, but can be time-consuming for parents who search for, copy or create their own notebooking pages for use on a particular topic. Apologia makes it easy for parents.
Apologia Notebooking Journals
Apologia created notebooking journals or student notebooks curriculum specific. Each elementary science, General Science and Physical Science curricula has it’s own notebooking journal. These spiral bound journals contain pre-made pages for each module. The Notebooking Journals make teaching and learning easy and fun. Don’t cheat yourself or your kids by skipping over them when purchasing your Apologia Science textbooks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sigwx2uJknU&feature=share&list=UUiVfnUhQ0V3ifG6QGtM2hbA
