50 One-On-One Ideas For Moms And Sons - The Homeschool Scientist

As a homeschool family, we get a lot of together time. A LOT. While the quantity of time maybe there, the quality time is sometimes lacking.

Most of our time together is spent working on school, meal prep, eating, housework, and driving to and from the kids’ activities. In all that activity, time to build close relationships sometimes gets lost. That’s why my husband and I make sure we plan one on one time with each of our kids.

Spending girl-time with my daughter always seemed to come easy. We enjoy doing the same sorts of things. Finding things to do with my son is not always so easy, but we’ve come to find some common ground and have a lot of fun together.

Tips For Spending Quality One-On-One Time For Mom And Son

I realize that not all moms and sons are the same. We all have different personalities and interests. So, the most important thing is to take time to realize what your son likes.

Does he like to read? Does he like sports? Animals? Ice cream? Movies?

Take your knowledge of his interests and go with it. Find something that you have in common or something that you think you would both enjoy doing together. He’ll appreciate you took the time to take his interests into consideration. This will help break the ice and make your time together easier.
