Best LEGO Book Ever
Like many American families with a 10 year old boy, we have LEGOs. Lots of LEGOs. We have my son’s LEGOs and we have LEGOs handed down from 2 nephews who have outgrown them. Bins of LEGOs.
You would think that will all those LEGOs at his disposal, our son would be building and creating all the time. Not so much. Our son doesn’t just go build to build. He needs inspiration. So, we have LEGO books full of ideas and inspiration for him.
He likes the LEGO books we have from DK Publishing the best. The pictures are easy to follow and the ideas are fun. So, when our friends at DK Publishing sent us their latest LEGO book, LEGO Awesome Ideas, to review, my son was excited.
As soon as we opened the package, we knew this book was different. The holographic cover is awesome.
It didn’t take long for our son to proclaim “This is the best LEGO book ever!!”
Ever since the LEGO Awesome Ideas arrived, this has been my living room.
There is always a project going on. It’s like he has re-discovered the LEGOs and can’t stop building!
What makes this book so great?
Fun themes
Each chapter is a fun theme – Outer Space, the Wild West, Modern Metropolis, Fantasy Land, and the Real World. The chapters begin with instructions for basic builds and then expands from there adding new items and details. Kids’ imaginations can go wild!
Shows how to use LEGO pieces in new ways
Who knew that you could have a LEGO garden using orange cones for carrots? Have you ever thought of using the tow-ball and hitch plate pieces to make a Lego caterpillar move like a real caterpillar? LEGO Awesome Ideas shows all kinds of ways to use the LEGO pieces you already have to build awesome things.
Great new projects
Like I said before, we have a few LEGO books. While they are different themes, there is some overlap in types of projects and builds. LEGO Awesome Ideas contains totally new ideas.
LEGO Awesome Ideas contains a Furniture Gallery section that inspired my son to create a Super Bowl party and an outdoor seating area. I’m don’t think any of our family Super Bowl parties involved anyone standing on the couch and yelling. As I said before….imagination! lol
Do you have a LEGO lover in your house? Are they needing some new inspiration? LEGO Awesome Ideas may just be what they need!
