Backyard science ideas! - The Homeschool Scientist

Nature is the best science classroom. It’s true. It’s also true that you don’t have to go very far to get into nature. Just walk out your backdoor.

Your backyard, and your front yard for that matter, are teeming with life and learning opportunities. All you have to do is simply observe. The rest will come to you.

The more you observe the more curious you will be. Then, you’ll start asking questions. You’ll make more observations or even create some sort of situation, an experiment if you will, to try and learn more. (BTW -that is the scientific method.) You’ll become a backyard scientist!

Try some of these backyard science ideas with your kids. Turn your whole family into backyard scientists!
